From a small primary school to one of Malé's leading educational institutions — here is our story.

1989
Madam Raashidha Yoosuf — 1st Principal

  • Thaajuddeen Primary School was opened by President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom.
  • Madam Raashidha Yoosuf appointed as the 1st Principal.
  • The first school band was formed.
  • Won the first-ever trophy for the school (TVM "Young Talent's Show").
1990
  • School name changed from Thaajuddeen Primary School to Thaajuddeen School.
  • School motto formulated: "Strive For Excellence".
1991
  • Formation of uniform body activities: Cubscouts and Brownies and Girl Guides.
  • Board of Prefects established.
1993

  • Madam Maana Rafiu was appointed as the 2nd Principal.
1994
  • Winners of the first-ever Teachers' Tournament ("Teachers' Basket Tournament").
1996
  • Thaajuddeen School became the first primary school to receive the Environmental "Fehi Faiy" Award by President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom.
1998

1999
  • School's first Computer Lab opened and computer classes commenced.
2001
  • Middle school (Grade 6) was introduced.
2004

  • The newly reconstructed school officially opened by President Maumoon Abdul Gayyoom (Grant Aid from Japan).

  • Enrollment of first cadets.
  • The election of the first school board took place.

  • Single session schooling introduced.
  • Clubs introduced.
  • Operation of secondary school started.

  • First batch of students sat for the O'Level exam.
2014
  • Leadership Award for Staff was introduced.
2015
  • School changed back to a double-session school.
  • Vocational stream introduced.
2016

  • New school uniform approved and introduced.
  • Traffic monitoring was introduced for secondary students.

  • Inclusive Support Class introduced.
  • School mosque named "Masjidhul Shaikh Hassan Thaajuddeen".
  • Staff cards introduced.
  • Staff activity uniform introduced.
  • Construction and installation of turf in the school.
2018
  • Commenced "Badhahi Ihaa" Program.
  • Formation of the first School Brass Band.
2020
  • Education During Crisis: Forging a Path to Quality Learning — Most Innovative and Best Implementation in Inclusivity Award.
