Who We Are

The School of Choice

Thaajuddeen School is a prominent government educational institution situated on Thaajuddeen Hingun in Malé, Maldives. Established on 7 February 1989 and officially inaugurated by then-President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom, the school was named after the esteemed Maldivian historian Hassan Thaajuddeen.

Originally opened as Thaajuddeen Primary School, it was renamed in 1990. The school expanded to include secondary education in 2002. In 2004, a new building was constructed with assistance from the Government of Japan, significantly enhancing its facilities.

Guided by its motto "Strive for Excellence," the school provides education for students from Grades 1 to 10, with a teaching staff of 118 and an enrolment of approximately 1,492 students.

School History

7 February 1989
Thaajuddeen Primary School officially opened and inaugurated by President Maumoon Abdul Gayoom. Named in honour of renowned Maldivian historian Hassan Thaajuddeen.
1990
The school was renamed from Thaajuddeen Primary School to Thaajuddeen School.
2002
The school expanded its offerings to include secondary education, serving students up to Grade 10.
2004
A new school building was constructed with generous assistance from the Government of Japan, significantly upgrading facilities and capacity.
Today
Thaajuddeen School serves approximately 1,492 students from Grades 1–10, supported by 118 qualified teaching staff and modern facilities including science labs, computer labs, a health room and a multipurpose audiovisual room.
